Noise is a topic of workplace law, which changed significantly in 2005, following the introduction of new European directives on that and other physical agents. The new provisions were transposed into UK legislation through the Control of Noise at Work Regulations 2005 with necessary transitional arrangements for industries where immediate compliance would be difficult.
